If you only found out about the existence of hemp tea recently, you’re not alone. Although it provides amazing health benefits and tastes just as great, hemp tea has only recently becoming a popular beverage (even though it has been around for thousands of years).
Hemp tea, also known as CBD tea or cannabis tea, is a natural herbal tea that provides many medicinal and other health benefits. It is made from the cured and dehydrated leaves the cannabis-hemp plant, is steeped much the same way you would brew your other favorite teas, and comes in a variety of flavors. The only difference is that most hemp teas need to be brewed with some form of fat to bind to as cannabis is not water-soluble. That is where hemp tea from The Hemp Tea Company is different. The Hemp Tea Company created a special process so that no fat, cream or binding agent is needed.
In many cases, it can replace or supplement green tea in your typical tea blends. There is about 30mg naturally occurring CBD in hemp tea, therefore it can provide you with many of the benefits you already come to expect when ingesting cannabis-infused products.
There are many reasons to consider adding hemp tea to your daily diet, depending on how you steep your tea, what part of the hemp plant you are using, and the age of the Cannabis Sativa plant (hemp plant) when the tea was dried and how it was cured:
Green tea has been popular for centuries as well and has been known to provide many health benefits such as weight management and disease prevention, it doesn’t have quite the same medicinal capabilities that hemp has proven to provide. If you are worried about having any of the psychoactive effects often misassociated with all cannabis products, CBD-based hemp teas have virtually no THC present, which means you get all the health benefits without the “high” that comes with smoking pure cannabis.

We believe in plant-based solutions to CBD. Most CBD is chemically extracted from the hemp plant. Then the CBD is purified or “isolated” so that it is just CBD. Research suggests that the best health benefits from CBD or cannabinoids, is from broad-spectrum or full-spectrum CBD. This statement has not been evaluated by the FDA. Neither Hemp Tea nor the CBD in hemp tea is meant to diagnose, treat or prevent any disease.
Some CBD teas or hemp teas add CBD oil or CBD isolate to their tea.
At The Hemp Tea COmpany, we take a completely different approach. We don’t add or subtract anything from our hemp. Our hemp tea is 100% pure cured hemp leaves. We cure our hemp leaves in a very special way so that the cannabinoids are decarboxylated making them bioavailable. Under normal circumstances the CBD would be locked in the plant in a way that the CBD wouldn’t steep into the hot water.
So we invented a process for curing and “decarboxylating” the hemp leaves. Decarboxylating means converting the cannabinoids from the a or acid state to their available state. Decarboxylating means converting CBDa into CBD and then making it bioavailable so with our tea the CBD does steep into the water.

Does Hemp Tea get people high? NO.
Does Hemp Tea contain any THC? YES and NO. How is that for an answer to what seems like a relatively straight forward yes or no question??
The industrial hemp plant comes in many varieties and strains but all are in the same family as the cannabis plant and some are exactly the same except that they have had the THC (the chemical in cannabis that gets people high) bred out of them.
By law, HEMP PLANTS, at maturity cannot contain above .3% THC in any part of the plant. While the leaves that hemp tea is made from contain the full spectrum of cannabinoids, each of those cannabinoids exists in the leaves but in much smaller amounts. The leaves used to make our hemp tea never contain anywhere near the .3% threshold.
Is .3% THC a lot? Numbers don’t have value unless there is a comparison. If you don’t know the percentages of THC in cannabis strains then .3% may not mean a lot. Currently most, not all, but most cannabis sold commercially has about 18%-25% or higher. With that as the perspective, the amount of THC in hemp tea is insignificant.
So while there is trace amounts of THC delta 9 and/or THCa in hemp tea the concentration is so low that it will not get you high no matter how much you drink.
You do get a full-spectrum cannabinoid profile from Hemp Tea. Cannabinoids include: CBD, CBG and CBN

The segment of herbal tea is evolving like never before, and people are excited about its newest member, Hemp Tea! Yes, there are so many questions going around about this incredibly delicious cup of herbal tea and today are going to answer some of these questions one by one. Have others? Don’t be afraid to ask.
Hemp tea, will it get you high? Or what do you do about the CBD content in Hemp tea?
These are the most common concerns regarding the Hemp tea, and first, let’s get it cleared. Hemp tea is prepared from the cured, dried leaves of the Hemp plant (Cannabis sativa) which contains CBD (Cannabidiol) as a major compound (around 3%). CBD is a non-psychoactive component and carries loads of health benefits instead. Hence we can eliminate the common fear by concluding that, Hemp tea will not get you high! Hemp Tea contains less than .3% THC so you would have to drink a ton to get any THC effect. On the other hand, CBD and the other cannabinoids in hemp tea will help you to live a healthy life due to its proven health benefits.
Hemp tea, is it a new invention?
The answer is No. Why? There are many pieces of evidence from history to say that people used Hemp tea in the past. It is said that in ancient India, Hemp tea was offered to guests as a welcoming ritual. However, the use of Hemp tea became controversial during the late centuries due to the assumed psychoactive effects of the plant, but today these taboos have been answered by the proper scientific facts and figures.
With that said, we invented a special way to process hemp leaves into hemp tea that “decarboxylates” the CBD making it bioavailable.
Hemp tea, how do we prepare?
There is no magic in the preparation of Hemp tea. It is more or less the same process as any other tea. Here we recommend using one spoon full of dry hemp tea to around 250ml of boiling water and to brew it for 3-5 minutes, depending on the desired strength.
Further, we recommend pairing this tea with either milk, cream, a slice of butter or a few drops of oil. Simply due to the fact that CBD is a non-water soluble element and these sources of fat help the absorption of CBD into our system.
Hemp tea, what does it taste like?
Hemp tea has a very mild and delicate flavor profile and if we compare it with a regular green tea, Hemp tea has a less grassy flavor profile. It has exceptional brew with a yellowish hue and in general, Hemp tea blends well with many other flavor profiles as well.
Hemp tea, what benefits do we get from it?
This phenomenal herbal tea can be a star in your tea collection purely due to its proven health benefits. Hemp tea contains a wide array of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and more importantly the CBD. Here we have briefed a few common benefits of Hemp tea for your information.
